Cherry Audio Products Suddenly not working in Sierra OSX 10.12.6 (or earlier)

Older Mac systems running 10.12.6 and earlier seem to be affected by an Apple update deployed in the second week of March 2022. This update appears to have broken specific plug-ins in certain DAWs and the standalone products. Cherry Audio is affected by this update.

If you are experiencing similar issues, check your OSX updates to see if Apple installed anything in the recent past. You can do this by following these steps:

  • Click the Apple logo in the top left of your screen.
  • Hold the alt/option key and click System Information...
  • In the left-hand browser, navigate down to the Software section.
  • Click Installations.
  • Look for an installation where the Source is Apple, the Software Name is "Device Support Update", and the Date will be between early March 2022 and the current date.

Unfortunately, if this is the issue, there isn't anything we can do to help fix this; it's a problem at the library level of the OS broken through that update.

A fix has been identified, but you will need to approach that at your own risk; Cherry Audio hasn't tested this and can't support any adverse outcomes of altering frameworks in your OS.
